Have a well mannered, social dog with whom you’d like to volunteer?
Monadnock Therapy Pets (MTP) is Monadnock Humane Society’s therapy dog volunteer program. Through it, we support people in the region who are interested in volunteering with their dogs. This group includes both experienced therapy dog volunteers, people who are just getting started volunteering, and people who are looking for information about therapy dog work in the Monadnock region of New Hampshire.
To become a registered Therapy Dog team, dog and handler go through a rigorous testing process. Our Training Center instructors can help you prepare for testing. To find out about upcoming classes that can help your dog prepare to become a registered therapy dog, check our schedule here: Training Classes

Where Can You Meet Our Therapy Dog Teams?
MHS' Therapy Dog volunteers are frequent visitors at MHS events. You'll meet them at local healthcare facilities, local schools, camps, & libraries. You can read to them at our Adoption and Learning Center. Find out more about the Read to a Dog program here.
All our visiting teams are registered and insured. This means the dog and owner have trained for work in healthcare and educational facilities and carry liability insurance when you meet them.
