In case you hadn’t heard – the 25th Annual Walk for Animals was a spectacular success, and we have *you* to thank! Our Walkers were so excited to know that 100% of the money they raised will be applied directly to the care of the animals.
Just a few tidbits about the day –
- $31,000 was raised – this includes the cash sponsorships and donations collected by Walkers
- Over 150 people and their dogs came out to show their support of MHS. Here are two quotes we heard:
“We’re here to raise more awareness and to show support for the work the society does to place animals in good homes.” — Renee Legault of Keene
“It’s so much fun to be around all the dogs and their owners. “— Dorian Wonderlick of Vermont, who walked with her husband and their four Italian Greyhounds. - This was the first year in its history that the Walk was held at the Dillant-Hopkins Airport. The venue provided a beautiful 3-mile walk on a paved road, with Walk Stations along the way. The Swanzey Oxen led a parade for the first quarter mile. Community support for this event was stronger than ever!
- Melba, an adoptable pooch, came to the Walk and while she was there found her new forever family!
We hope that you know how much we appreciated your support and all that it has made possible. Next year we hope to make it even more successful, and hope that you will join us in that effort.
