During the 35th Annual Walk for Animals – to be held on Saturday, May 20th, our goal is to raise $65,000 in support of MHS. We need your help! We encourage you to join us in supporting our animal shelter through peer-to-peer fundraising. Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a significant difference in the lives of our furry friends who rely on the shelter for care and support. By participating in this event, not only are you helping to raise funds for the shelter, but you are also showing your support for the well-being of animals in our community.
Together, we can make a positive impact and help provide the resources needed to ensure that every animal receives the love and care they deserve. You may not know it, but 100% of the Monadnock Humane Society’s funding comes from our community. In addition to your generous donations and bequests, we also hold fundraising events throughout the year to ensure we can meet our $1 million+ annual operating budget. The Annual Walk for Animals, one of our two major fundraising events, accounting for approximately X% of our budget.
Year after year, this popular event attracts hundreds of walkers, dogs, and volunteers who enjoy a fun-filled, family-oriented outdoor experience, all while generously supporting MHS and the important work we do.
This year, your participation, donations, and personal fund-raising efforts are more important than ever. Donations to many non-profits are down this year, while expenses for just about everything have increased.

- Registering for the Walk and then soliciting support from your own network
- Volunteering before, during, and/or after the event
- Making a donation to MHS

We facilitate animal adoptions – and so much more!
MHS rescues animals, cares for them, and helps find their furr-ever homes. This year, we’re on track to adopt-out more than 2,000 cats, dogs, and small animals in the 44 communities we serve! Matching animals and people is a huge part of our mission which brings joy to countless families and individuals. Check out of social media and newsletters to see countless stories of successful adoptions. But adoptions are not the end of the story…

100% of the Monadnock Humane Society’s funding comes from our community. Successful fundraisers help us to support you and your animals by offering services at a reasonable cost. That’s why it’s critical for us to meet our goals for events like the Annual Walk for Animals.
